Dedication Plaque

The Legacy Hall frieze is dedicated to Warren Olsen, longtime curator of the M State art collection. A plaque displayed in Legacy Hall reads:

The Legacy Hall Frieze is dedicated to Warren Olsen.

To honor the richness he has brought to our lives by growing and caring for the art collection of our college.

Warren Olsen retired from the English Department in 1992 after 26 years of teaching. He then became curator of the campus art collection.

He has continued to teach and inspire us while turning this entire campus into an art gallery.

Through the visual arts, Warren builds community and teaches us to stop long enough to see and reflect on the world around us.

He has created a culture where we appreciate and respect the presence of the visual arts.
